Sailing
Experience:
- Over 30 years of active sailing with monohulls and catamarans.
- 34,000 miles in seven voyages of Pacific Bliss, an eight-year circumnavigation.
- I own a Hobie Cat 16 and for 10 years, while living in Malibu,
did a lot of catamaran ocean racing out of the Malibu Yacht
Club, launching through the surf. I presently use my catamaran
only for day sailing in San Diego Mission Bay and
the nearby open ocean. While living in Los Angeles, I
belonged to the Windjammer Yacht Club where I took out out monohulls
from 18 to 27 feet. I sailed many times over the weekend
from Marina del Rey to Catalina Island, including night sailing.
I also took many long cruises to Santa Cruz and Channel Islands.
- I also sailed for two weeks in the Tuamotos Islands on a 46
boat as crew and for two weeks at the Duke of York islands,
off New Britain, as crew on a 46 boat
- Past member of the Harbor Island Yacht Club, where I rent
22 to 27 monohulls for day sailing.
- Has acquired a ham license

Past member of the Harbor Island Yacht Club
in San Diego, where my husband, Gunter Hofmann, and
I rented 22-27 foot monohulls for day sailing. Prior
to moving to San Diego in 1990, I belonged to a Minneapolis-based
sail & ski club. We rented monohulls each summer for sailing
among the Apostle Islands of Lake Superior. I was crew
during three seasons. While living in Minnesota, I also owned
and managed a powerboat berthed on the Mississippi River for
six seasons, which I piloted and navigated through locks from
St.Paul, Minnesota to LaCrosse, Wisconsin.
