Season’s Greetings from Phuket, Thailand
View Photogallery

Pacific Bliss is on a berth in Yacht Haven Marina this holiday season. She is sitting pretty with her new teak cockpit table and the remainder of her teak varnished or oiled. Thailand is certainly the reasonable place to do this kind of woodwork. Bliss has Christmas lights strung around her bimini top and more inside the salon, with colorful hanging paper foil “chandeliers” hanging from the salon ceiling. She and we are all ready for Christmas, but no-one is here!

We miss you all! Wouldn’t it be nice to be all places at once? To flit from one family member and friend to another with the blink of an eye? But with our earthly bodies, this is not possible, so we can only dream of being with each of you and delivering our love and kisses in person.

We’ve had a very nice time so far here in Thailand. Lois’ sister Ret and her husband John flew in earlier this month, and we had an enjoyable time sailing for ten days through the hongs, anchoring at the fishing village on stilts, and mooring at Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Ley. We went on an “Island Safari” and rode the elephants (see photo) and visiting the beautiful Chalong Wat here.

In mid-January, we plan to undertake our Voyage 6, crossing of the Indian Ocean to the Maldives, then on to Oman, Aden, and the Red Sea. We plan to tour in Egypt and perhaps other countries for a month or so, then continue on through the Suez Canal to Cyprus and Turkey. In June of 2007, we will put Pacific Bliss on the hard and fly back home to San Diego to tend to our affairs there and then we will attend a family reunion in Colorado.

We wish you a VERY MERRY Christmas and the best of luck in the New Year. You deserve it!

With all our love,

Lois and Gunter
